President & CEO, R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC
Ed Quinn was born in Ft. Benning, Georgia, and today resides in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife and three children. Quinn is an executive leader with a proven track record of executing change in management strategies in order to improve overall company success. He is a firm believer in growth through innovation and works diligently to carry that mindset through the work he performs every day. In 1994, he received a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He currently serves as President and CEO of R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC, a railroad services provider based in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
In addition to his years of service as a Lieutenant in the United State Naval Reserve and Merchant Marine Reserve, Quinn’s impressive resume includes 22 years of service in industries such as transportation and manufacturing. He began his professional career in marine transportation at Avondale Industries, where he worked as an outfitting engineer and materials specialist. He went on to serve as Assistant to the President of D.W. Lee Inc. & Intermarine, where he played an integral role in the South American charter liner service through his management of the six vessel operations of a time-chartered fleet.
Several years later, he joined R. J. Corman as General Manager of the Material Sales Company and saw several promotions throughout his tenure, such as: Vice President of R. J. Corman Derailment Services, LLC, and Vice President of Strategic Contracts and Sales. As VP of Strategic Contracts and Sales, Quinn negotiated and closed multi-year guaranteed market share contracts, while allowing the organization to leverage assets when needed for emergency and storm work. In 2011, Mr. Quinn took over as Vice President of Big Ass Fans, a manufacturing and sales company in Lexington, Kentucky. During his five years with the company he was responsible for Sales Strategies/Management, Product Innovation/Development, Marketing Strategies, Business Innovation and Business Analytics.
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Quinn actively contributes to the Central Kentucky community through a variety of civic engagements. He serves on the University of Kentucky MBA Advisory Board and is a Board Member at the Ben Education Network (BEN) and at the Kentucky Chapter of the American Heart Association. Mr. Quinn also serves on the Corporate Council at Shriners Hospital for Children.
