Director of Development, The Council of State Governments
Maggie Mick leads the strategic direction of external funding development to support the mission and member priorities of The Council of State Governments. In this role, she develops, executes and guides efforts to engage external funders with the organization. Previously, Mick served as a congressional aide in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. Congressman Jerry Moran, and was a press secretary at the 2008 Republican National Convention. She has also served as a city council member for the city of Lancaster, Kentucky, and as a member of the American Council of Young Political Leaders’ delegations to Turkey and China.
Maggie has received local and statewide honors including Lexington Young Professionals Association Rising Star Award and Bluegrass Alliance for Women Impact Award. She was recognized as one of five “Top Women in Business” in Kentucky by the Lane Report in 2013. She is past president of the board of directors at the Living Arts & Science Center and serves on the board of the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross. She is married to Nathan Mick and resides in Lexington.
